Be imitators of God...

In my reading this week I came across Ephesians 5:1-2; "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

The first part of that verse is pretty powerful... "Be imitators of God..."

Its been said that the greatest form of flattery is imitation. But God is so perfect. How are we to flatter him in this way? That's some pretty high standards! Luckily, God gave us chapter 4 in Ephesians too.
Verse 31 - Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
Verse 32 - Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.
Verse 29 - Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Verses 26-27 - In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.
Verse 25 - Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.

WOW, right? I know, I said it before, that's a huge bill to fill! Isn't it nice to know that "with God all things are possible?"
